Now in My Bookbag: The Hidden Library, (The Collectors' Society Book #2), by Heather Lyons

I am still enamored with this story, that began in The Collectors’ Society. There are a few things in The Hidden Library that impede the absolute love I feel for book one.

Book two is a lot to take in. There are so many different elements included, it is difficult to hang on from one switch to another. However, I can truly say that there isn’t a dull moment.

There are very few further developments in the characters, but they are already pretty complex. I think that they were very well written from the start, (Book #1).

I do really like this book. It is a page-turning read. I recommend continuing this series with The Hidden Library. 4 1/4 stars

Now in My Bookbag: Soulless, by Sarah J Pepper

Much is made during the book about Piper being the mirror image of Declan. So too, this story is the mirror image of a traditional fairy tale. Though the title is Soulless, each of the aforementioned characters are written to have a softer side… the remainders of a soul. This element gives each of these characters a polarity of their own

Making reference to other fairy tales, author Sarah J Pepper twists them into the mix, some more successfully than others. I believe the book might be more cohesive with fewer of these fairy tale twists, so the flow of the story gets lost in a couple of places.

Without revealing too much of the story, I will say that much of the book is well thought out and imaginatively written. 4 stars

I love this book. Pointe of Breaking is a raw and passionate contemporary romance with love, betrayal, money and power.

I love the way authors Pepper and Daws have written Adeline, a prima-ballerina who has a big heart and very little money. They capture her intensity, beauty and emotion, both within dance and life. Leo is a fascinating and complex character, written to show not only who he is but also his journey to get there.

The authors have included enough backstory, ancillary characters and intrigue to create a well-layered story that is a thoroughly enjoyable read. There are still too many typos in this book, but the story is superbly written and its main characters feel very real. I highly recommend it.
